The company FIAT presented its new concept 500e Gelateria Edition, which could be a glimpse of the future ice cream vehicle.
The concept was produced by FIAT in the UK and is said to be “a compact and sustainable solution to the old ice cream vans that pollute the environment significantly as many of them are powered by diesel engines. These engines need to run in order to power the appliances in the van. Also , these types of vehicles are increasingly banned in urban areas.
The cute concept is based on the 500e Convertible and comes without a passenger seat or a rear seat. This space is occupied by two ice cream refrigerators with a volume of 15 liters, as well as storage for cones, spoons and containers. The amount of ice cream is enough for 300 people, and the car is also equipped with a small awning that provides some shade.
The bodywork is painted in two tones reminiscent of “the spirit of a classic Italian ice cream shop from the fifties”. In the interior, there is a cream dashboard, and there is also room for two folding deckchairs.
